I would like to be able to get its red value (the one for the blue wave).\nIs there any way to do this in Python?\n\nA:\n\nI don't think there's an API for this (as @yap suggests in a comment), so I'm copying a solution I implemented for an Arduino project a while back. \nIt works like this:\n\nCreate a resized copy of the image in the target color space, on the same resolution (this is to reduce noise in the conversion).\nConvert the copy into a grayscale image. If you want the R, G and B components extracted, you can create a Numpy array from the converted image and use numpy.transpose to get to them.\nCount how many red pixels you have in the copy.\nThen for each red pixel, look at the pixel with the smallest RGB value in the copy. \nUse the RG and BG values to convert the red value in the pixel that you found to a hue value in the HSV color space. \nUse the H value and do a simple division of the HSV pixel with the average of all the pixels in the copy.\n\nThe hardest part of the entire operation is step 5, but once you have the hue values, you have the R, G and B values for each pixel.\nEdit: The actual code is available here.
