Use cases

Andovar API support the following cases

Traditional Projects

Individual projects and add jobs. Projects are always on source language to one or multiple targets.

Each job added will be broken into multiple jobs by language pair and workflow step.

There's not quote and no Wordcount.
Supports: XML, JSON

Continuous Projects

User can submit jobs which are added to projects automatically. Projects are created and assigned based source language and a date pattern.

For example Spanish 202203 will contain all Spanish as source work from March 2022.
Supports: JSON

Addresses transliteration

User can submit multiple addresses of the same source language and get an English transliteration of them.
Supports: JSON

Creates a project.

A project is a container for jobs from a single srcLang following a specific workflow.

Source language

Projects can have a single srcLang but multiple targetLangs.
For multiple source languages, one project per language needs to be created.
For json projects all jobs follow automatically.

Webhooks

The url to send notifications.

Template

As we setup your account a template will be created for every requested workflow including all your translation preferences. If you use a single setup you don't need to add the template parameter and we'll use default.

Templates use friendly names.

Workflows

They are part of templates

Adds content to be translated to a Project.

After processing one job will be created for every language pair src-target.

Meta-Data

Information about the job.

targetLangs. A collection of supported language locales.
fileType: json|xml

srcLang

Not required for JSON projects. Follows project srcLang.

For XML files the src is defined in the structure itself and it must match the project src.

targetLangs

is managed by the API and languages will be added to projects on the fly.

You can use a subset of languages from the project.

Content-Disposition

Make sure the file types match (json|xml) and add a good name for reference.

Web-hooks

Web-hooks work at project level. Make sure to add a valid one on project creation.

Returns the target file

URLs for every job are returned in the Get Project response.

Multilanguage XML all jobs return the same data.
Single language targets each link returns only the target one.

Continuous projects allow the easiest creation and management of content that occurs all the time.

A valid token is required.

Periodicity

Projects are used for a specific period of time, for example months, weeks or even a day. This allow better control of volume and invoicing. Automatically controlled.

Project creation

Occurs automatically, one project per source language and period might exist at any time. When it does content is added, otherwise it's automatically created.

Metadata

srcLang

Identifies the source language of the content. Cannot be mixed

targetLangs

Every job request allows you to enter the targets. They are automatically added to projects and not used by default. This means you can have 5-10 targets but your job will only used the requested subset.

Workflow / Template

Optional, goes to default. Only used when more than one workflows have been agreed upon.

Projects are the largest object type. They hold all work and settings on a project including workflow, engines, behaviour and many more things.

Most project settings are inherited from a Project Template created before tokens are given.
