This is my requirement:
\n
There will be a user activity log in system. This system will not be a startup application. It will be an application that will run when system is turned on.\nWhen the user is logged in, some details will be stored in the database.\nThere should be a way for application to detect if the user is logged in and if there is a session stored.
\n
I want a functionality similar to a Windows Event Log Application.
\n
A:
\n
You have some options here. Let's take a look at how they would work in your situation:\n(1) Use the Win32 API to write to the Event Log. The documentation can be found here: \n(2) Include an MSI installer to a desktop application. You can then monitor the application using the Windows Installer API.
\n
A:
\n
I've done a lot of logging of various types in desktop applications and have found it easiest to use the Event Log.\nI use the Event Viewer application in Vista and Windows 7 and it appears to work in Windows XP just fine, although some of the options may have changed.\nIf you are just trying to log a simple success or failure message to the Event Viewer then its easy. Either add an entry (Event Handler) or maybe create a new Event Viewer Logging Application project from the New Project dialog and select Event Viewer for the type. If you are looking to display a notification in the Event Viewer GUI then the New Event Handler dialog has a Notification option you can use, but I'm not sure how that will work in Windows XP.
\n
A:
\n
The idea with the Eventlog works fine under XP, you will need to have your logging application\nhttps://documenter.getpostman.com/view/21860640/Uze3Qipr https://documenter.getpostman.com/view/21888824/Uze3Qipu https://documenter.getpostman.com/view/21919513/Uze3QikY https://documenter.getpostman.com/view/21843580/Uze3Qips https://documenter.getpostman.com/view/21831880/Uze3Qipt # Introduction\nWhat does your API do?
\n
Overview
\n
Things that the developers should know about
\n
Authentication
\n
What is the preferred way of using the API?
\n
Error Codes
\n
What errors and status codes can a user expect?
\n
Rate limit
\n
Is there a limit to the number of requests a user can send?
\n

","schema":"https://schema.getpostman.com/json/collection/v2.0.0/collection.json","toc":[{"content":"Overview","slug":"overview"},{"content":"Authentication","slug":"authentication"},{"content":"Error Codes","slug":"error-codes"},{"content":"Rate limit","slug":"rate-limit"}],"owner":"21852943","collectionId":"66835470-3515-47d0-b6db-5a988f3d9093","publishedId":"Uze3R3hV","public":true,"customColor":{"top-bar":"FFFFFF","right-sidebar":"303030","highlight":"EF5B25"},"publishDate":"2022-08-02T10:23:13.000Z"},"item":[{"name":"","id":"21852943-a393cf07-5fc3-40f1-a7e2-6a49fedc752d","protocolProfileBehavior":{"disableBodyPruning":true},"request":{"method":"GET","header":[],"body":{"mode":"raw","raw":""},"url":"","description":"
Saints.Row.IV.Update.7.Incl.DLC-RELOADED PC
\n","urlObject":{"query":[],"variable":[]}},"response":[],"_postman_id":"21852943-a393cf07-5fc3-40f1-a7e2-6a49fedc752d"}]}
