\nIm Jahr 1978 versetzt der sogenannte „Grabber“ eine Kleinstadt in
Colorado in Angst und Schrecken. Immer wieder verschwinden Kinder
spurlos. Die Grundschülerin Gewn (Madeleine McGraw) sieht zwar in ihren
Träumen einen Mann mit schwarzen Luftballons, der Kinder verschleppt –
traut sich aber nicht, etwas zu sagen, weil ihr alkoholkranker Vater
(Jeremy Davies) sie dann verprügelt. Aber dann wird auch Gwens
13-jähriger Bruder Finney (Mason Thames) entführt – und findet sich
plötzlich in einem schalldichten Keller wieder, wo ihn der maskierte
Grabber (Ethan Hawke) begrüßt. Schreien hilft hier gar nichts – aber an
der Wand hängt ein Telefon, das trotz durchgeschnittenem Kabel immer
wieder klingelt. Offenbar sind es die Geister der früheren Opfer des
sadistischen Serienmörders, die sich an ihrem Mörder rächen und zugleich
Finney vor einem ähnlichen Schicksal beschützen wollen

The first national color broadcast (the 1954 Tournament of Roses
Parade) in the US occurred on January 1, 1954. During the following ten
years most network broadcasts, and nearly all local programming,
continued to be in black-and-white. A color transition was announced for
the fall of 1965, during which over half of all network prime-time
programming would be broadcast in color. The first all-color prime-time
season came just one year later. In 19402, the last holdout among
daytime network shows converted to color, resulting in the first
